Philippa Davis

Chef

Philippa grew up in Dorset on a small farm and at 18 moved to London to pursue a career in food. Over ten years she worked as a chef at The River Café, Moro and Lidgates the Butchers before setting up and running the award-winning café at Mudchute city farm, on the Isle of Dogs. For the last 12 years she has worked as a freelance private chef working across the globe for an array of high-profile clients.

“One of my favourite parts of being a private chef is having the opportunity to go out and meet producers and find incredible produce to bring to my client’s table wherever I may be.  I absolutely love travelling across the world and discovering different markets and exciting ingredients but every time I’m home in the UK I’m struck by the pride and joy I feel at seeing the exceptional quality and diversity of our own food scene and know it’s the among the best, if not the best, in the world.”

Philippa writes for BBCfood, has a monthly recipe column for The Field Magazine focusing on British seasonal food, writes the recipe section for the Deepest Books series which celebrates the counties of the West Country and is a regular contributor to Dorset Magazine.
