Peter Heanen

Peter Heanen is the owner of HG Walter Ltd, an award-winning retail and catering butchers located in West London. Working in the meat industry for 50 years, Peter has unsurprisingly developed a real passion for food, especially home-grown British produce. He is incredibly proud to be an Ambassador for Love British Food and can regularly be found travelling up and down the UK championing the cause to other butchers.

HG Walter is an independent family-run company with quality and consistency at the core of everything we do. For years, we have supplied the UK’s top restaurants, chefs and home cooks with exceptional meat sourced from trusted farms that focus on sustainable practices and ethical rearing. We pride ourselves on having the best beef in the UK, intensifying its natural flavour, by dry ageing whole carcasses and primal cuts for a minimum of 28 and up to 90 days in our custom-made Himalayan salt chamber. Our chefs prepare all our pies, scotch eggs, stocks, burgers, and sausages in-house. From the Michelin-Starred River Café to the highly acclaimed Kricket, our meat and pantry products supply hundreds of restaurants, and we are the go-to butcher for many of London’s food writers, chefs, and critics. We’ve never tried to be the biggest, only the best, while holding our values close in everything we do.
