How Councils can take part in British Food Fortnight

Lots of Councils take part in British Food Fortnight every year using the event as an opportunity to showcase healthy eating and local food promotion initiatives. Below you will find lots of ideas for how your Council can take part in the national food promotion. See in particular the ideas for 2012 when British Food Fortnight runs at the same time as the London Olympics. Make sure British food is at the heart of your Council's Olympic celebrations!

In the build-up to the Fortnight all schools in the UK are given information on incorporating cookery and food-related topics into their curriculum teaching and they are advised to seek help from local retailers and chefs to achieve this.  Many retailers and caterers organise activities for schools every year.  Use the links below for advice on how they can help.
