Love British Food is the leading national promotion of British food and the only organisation that encourages retailers and the caterers responsible for sourcing food in our schools, hospitals and food outlets with the aim to make British food their preferred supplier of choice.
A year-long campaign culminating in British Food Fortnight in the Autumn giving commercial benefits to UK business and organisations that take part. Major
hospitals, school catering services, Wembley Stadium, Harrods, train stations, Westminster Abbey, Ascot Race Course are just a handful of establishments
that have added their support.
The campaign is THE opportunity for everyone to come together and promote the benefits of buying and eating from our home-produced British larder. British Food Fortnight always takes place over the last week of September and the first week of October giving caterers and retailers specific dates to concentrate their efforts for promotions.
The website gives advice on producing, buying and eating British, with information for all sectors including how to get involved with, and organise, British
food promotions and events across the UK. An important influencer in engaging the retail, catering and education sectors, with initiatives to help
maintain a robust market for Britain’s food.
Love British Food and British Food Fortnight are the brainchildren of Alexia Robinson, founded in 2002. At the time, there were many food initiatives, campaigns and projects taking place in Britain, but no overall flagship event to bring them to the public’s attention. The first event was held in Autumn 2002 to coincide with the Harvest Festival, the traditional time for celebrating our food. Growing each year, British Food Fortnight is now an established annual event in the calendar and the biggest national celebration of British food.
