Retailers

British Food Fortnight is an established promotion in the retail sector. Every year, small, medium-sized and major retailers take part, all enjoying the commerical benefits that participation brings. Retailers taking part have increased their sales by 34% as a direct result of the event with some independent stores seeing sales increases of £2,000 during the Fortnight.

All the major supermarkets ran special British promotions during British Food Fortnight 2009 signifying the greatest support in the history of the event and proving that British food really is flavour of the month. And hundreds of independent stores are also taking part with tastings, meet-the-producer events and special offers. See below for details of what they did.
