Restaurant of the month: Summer Lodge
Based in Evershot in rural West Dorset, the heart of the West Country, we have access to a bewildering abundance of delicious local produce and suppliers.From Brixham on the coast to the grassy hillsides of the local farms we are lucky to have local produce to satisfy every possible taste.Our executive chef, Steven Titman, has held 3 AA rosettes here at Summer Lodge for the past 14 years serving his delicious interpretation of modern British cuisine. This in conjunction with our brilliant sommelier Eric Zwiebel, and his 3000 bin wine list makes Summer Lodge a mouth-watering destination.We are open every day for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner and we can accommodate up to 70 covers in the restaurant and conservatory.
Summer Lodge has been a privately owned hotel since being converted from a dower house in the early 1980’s and in that time has earned a reputation for excellent cuisine, outstanding service and attention to detail. We have every intention of carrying this forward into the future.

Why do you do what you do?
We aim to offer our guests the best possible experience using locally sourced ingredients, cooked and served with care and attention.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Having access to amazing local producers and being able to be creative with their products.
What do you enjoy the least about your job?
Having to decide which products not to use!
What achievement for the restaurant are you most proud of?
Maintaining our brilliant quality by holding 3 AA rosettes for the past 14 years.
Do you use British Produce?
We use as much British produce as we can, specifically from the south west of England.
What do you think is best about using British produce?
Food is at its best when it is picked and used in its natural season. This fulfils our desire for the best possible produce and it also helps the environment as we are not using food shipped from half-way around the world.
Why should people buy British?
Because it's the best.
What is your most popular dish?
Dorset Lamb, its been our signature dish for the past 14 years.
