Restaurant of the month: Fayre Share
Fayre Share recently opened in Hackney, and provides friends and families with the opportunity to share not only meals, but all of the flavours of our classic British cooking too. Everything on the menu can be ordered for 1, 2 or 4 people, so you don’t need to worry that your appetite might be too large or small to match the rest of your table.
Why do you do what you do?
We love to see people enjoy themselves. There are very few things in work nicer than being able to create an environment where people want to come and enjoy themselves, eat, drink and relax.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Seeing people enjoy themselves and relaxing.
What do you enjoy the least about your job?
There is a challenge and skill to reading a table to make sure you live up to their expections. If someone is not happy for whatever reason it definitely bothers us, but also helps us learn. Customer feedback is so important.
What achievement for the restaurant are you most proud of?
Opening! To open a restaurant in London is incredibly challenging and just to have been able to do so in such a competitive market is a huge achievement.
Do you use British produce?
Yes. We try to use local companies whenever we can. We love that we can all support each other.
What do you think is best about using British produce?
The produce comes from farms that we know and trust. We also feel British produce is a benefit to the environment, the produce isn't flown in from abroad.
Why should people buy British?
Farmers in Britain have a tough time, and our support can make a huge difference.
What is your most popular dish?
It's a hard one to call but most likely crispy chilli squid with garlic mayo or the beer braised chicken.
