Case Study: Fountains Court, Middlesborough
Fountains Court is a 42 bed Residential Care Home based in the centre of a local housing estate.Priding themselves on being open to the Local Community
and regularly hold Pie and Pea suppers, quizzes etc which are well supported by the families and local residents alike.Children from nearby local schools
visit the home on a regular basis and they enjoy sitting and reading with the residents and enjoying home made cakes and biscuits with them.
To tie in with British Food Fortnight an event was held on Sunday 7th October at the Care Home with families, friends and neighbours invited.A three-course traditional Sunday lunch was enjoyed followed by an afternoon Cream Tea and then an early evening High Tea.Some residents had their lunch in the homes own pub The Captain Cook Inn, whilst others enjoyed their meal in The Grand Bistro and Bessy’s Tea Rooms.
The care home is a real community venue ensuring residents have regular visitors.
The residents and family said the following:
June: “It was lovely to have my Sunday lunch in the pub with my family.”
Maureen: “Had lovely beef lunch in the pub and asked for seconds on the chocolate cake and strawberries.”
Moira: “The meal was lovely, the British flags and decorations made it more special”.
